Institute for Social Transformation (IST) with funding support from the American Embassy Ambassador’s Self-help Program has engaged vulnerable women and youth from the six targeted sub counties in poultry rearing for business and health benefits. One hundred fifty (150) homes of the most impoverished women were given 8 female kroiler chicks and technical assistance and training in poultry rearing, basic business skills. By the end of the project, the beneficiaries will be empowered to own and sustain the businesses producing and selling eggs and chicken, to improve their economic livelihood and nutritional consumption.
